Congrats - taking that step to try out really is the most important part.<br /><br />I know what you mean about blogging making your words seem more real. I have found that too. In fact, it was one of the reasons I wanted to blog. I often felt very wishy-washy in my opinions and thoughts because I hadn't taken the time to really think through them fully. Blogging forces you to do that - you can't write effectively unless you have a clear idea of what you're writing. Sometimes that clarity comes as you write.
